Course Outline
The One-Day Intermediate Program includes:
- Two and a half hours of facilitator-led simulation and group experiences – introduction to business, financial statements, terminology, fixed and variable costs, difference between cash and profit;
- Four and a half hours (including lunch) of team competition simulation consisting of three decision-making cycles.
Each cycle includes:- Competitor and market analysis
- Formal and informal budget and cash flow exercises
- Setting prices in a competitive market
- Maintaining or expanding capacity
- Creating income statements and balance sheets
- Posting, comparing, and discussion of results
- Other activities include introduction of budgets, break-even analysis, cost-benefit analysis of various improvements – raw material cost reduction, increased labour efficiency, quality and customisation price initiatives;
- One hour introduction of ratio analysis; ROA, RONA, EVA; and
- Discussion and tie-back relating simulation experience to your company concerns, measures, and goals.
